Funny Little Luke

Luke's Kiss
One morning while all hanging out on our big bed, I was asking Luke to help me teach Brody how to kiss. Luke is not much of a kisser. He'll occasionally let you kiss him on the cheek, and sometimes will kiss on the lips, but he's really not into it. I joke that he's only 2 and already thinks Mommy kisses are gross. After I said, "Let's show Brody how to do kisses," he grabbed my face, locked lips, and pressed so long and hard that his head shook! After he finally let me loose, Howie and I were rolling with laughter.

Pat-A-Cake
Brody loves this rhyme.
"Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can.
Roll it, pat it, mark it with a B and put it in the oven for Brody and me!"
It will make him stop fussing almost every time.
We sing it so much Luke has learned it. Sometimes we insert an "L" and "put it in the oven for Luke and me." Sometimes we sing "put it in the oven for Luke and Brody." Luke was playing with his cats, Shadow and Oreo. He was clapping them together and singing the rhyme. His version went "...roll it, pat it, and mark it with a Shadow and Oreo!"

No Way
For some reason Luke loves to say "no way." I don't even know where he got this. He does shout it in disobedience but he also says it at other times.

We were on our way to IHOP. He kept saying we were going to IHOK.
So I explained, "No, I-HOP, like a bunny, HOP."
Luke: IHOP.
Mom: Do you know what IHOP stands for? International House of PANCAKES. (He LOVES pancakes!)
Luke excitedly: NO WAY!

We were eating dinner. Luke was being funny, yet very boyish.
Mom: Luke I love you very much but Mommy needs to get a girl.
Luke (in a girls have cooties kind of voice): NO WAY!
Of course Daddy had to high five him for that one!
